Tempos Livres

Programme for youth participation and community action to involve young people 14-20 for 5 days, making them reflect about their city and empowering them in terms of self development.

Generation Europe

Generation Europe is an international network of youth work institutions for furthering an active European civil society by developing activities focused on Active Citizenship at European level through Human Rights Education and Democracy.

LINHA - Participação Juvenil em Comunidades Locais

We want to create a space to make the voices of the youth in Sintra to be heard, to influence decisions and contribute to their local communities through capacity building and the Structured Dialogue with political decision makers.

Strengthening Youth Work in Shrinking Cities

S.Y.W. in Shrinking Cities

It aims to study the challenges and factors that contribute to the decrease of the population of several European cities, verifying how youth work can be used to mitigate or even reverse this effect.

An activity plan designed to inform, support and empower young people in different areas, focusing on the municipality of Sintra.

Cherish - Cultural Heritage Ambassadors

For eight days, Agualva-Cacém was in the center of Europe by having the presence of young people with cultures from different "corners" of Europe (and beyond Europe) to share visions and ideas about the defence of the Cultural Patrimony.

Our main action areas

Capacity-Building

Provide opportunities for the development of social-cultural competences, practical skills and support of youngsters, youth organisations and multipliers, through training, support sessions and structured programs using Youth Work and Non Formal Education

Community Development

Connect youngsters with the community with a focus on awareness and human connections with people, organisations and conservation of the urban and natural environment. It includes structured dialog, volunteering and cooperation with local organisations.

European Identity

Spread the values of European Union and provide opportunities for international mobility where young people can experience intercultural dialogue, learn about other realities and obtain new skills. Connect and cooperate with European organisations for the exchange of knowledge and good practices about youth work and youth policies.

Our essence

Some concepts

Non Formal Education

NFE is an structured participatory and social learning process, which includes voluntary participation and is centered on the participant, always treasuring the learning and reflexion processes..

Youth Work

Encompasses a broad range of activities (eg social, cultural, educational, sports-related and political) carried out with, by and for young people through non-formal and informal learning. It encourages personal development, autonomy, initiative and participation in society.

Co-OPERATIVE

Because we believe in the democratic union of people, without profit, fighting for a cause and its members being able to satisfy their economical, social and cultural needs and aspirations.

CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

Aims to contribute to the training of responsible, autonomous, solidary people, that know and exercise their rights and responsibilities in dialogue and respect each other, with a democratic, pluralist, critical and creative spirit, having as a reference human rights values.

YouNG People with Fewer Opportunities

Because it is our motivation to reach out to young people living in disadvantaged or dangerous situations by prioritising their access to formal and non-formal education, international mobility, to active citizenship and inclusion and empowerment in society.
